Bowie Castlebank trades under the Klick Photopoint and Max Spielmann retail brand names in the photoprocessing market, and also owns
the William Munro Cleaners retail brand. Founded in Glasgow over 130 years
ago, the company operating today was formed when the families of two rival
Glasgow laundries, the Bowies and the Kennedys, joined forces in the 1960's.
In the early 1980's Bowie Castlebank entered the photo processing market. From its first small laboratory in Central Scotland, Klick Photopoint now has a state-of-the-art laboratory in Wishaw, which develops over 10 million rolls of film a year. Bowie Castlebank now employs around 2,000 staff and has created its own national distribution network to serve over 350 retail outlets, which stretch from Cornwall to the North of Scotland.
The business is firmly focused on the future and both brands have recently
undergone changes of identity, reflected in new retail interiors and
communication material. The company is constantly evaluating new technology
and is already passing on to customers the benefits of the digital
revolution.
Klick Photopoint and Max Spielmann Photo Prints are the largest
independent photo giants in the UK, with a strong culture of quality and
