Take photos that are top of the class
Taking that treasured photo of your little ones first day at school is as easy as A, B, C.
Following some simple guidelines from Klick Photopoint and Max Spielmann, you can ensure the special moment is carefully caught on camera.
Before the photo
- Make sure camera batteries are charged and you have enough film or space on your memory card
- Have some fun before the photo so your child’s not nervous about his or her day
Taking the photograph
- Try different poses and locations such as the garden, living room or the school gate to capture different styles and light
- Try to capture your child’s excitement in the photo by making them feel at ease and laughing with them
- ALWAYS take more than one photo, it’s better to have too many than not enough
- Include brothers and sisters in the photo to celebrate the day and try to keep photos natural
- Have fun with your pictures, if you enjoy taking the photos your kids will enjoy being in them!
Sandy Kennedy at Klick Photopoint says: “The first day of school means a great deal to all the family and capturing it on camera is just the beginning. School photographs are always used for special birthdays and other celebratory occasions later in life so it is important to get the best you can out of your photo.
“Let your child relax and have some fun as this will make the best photograph. They will already be nervous about starting school so try to loosen them up a bit before they head off, this will reflect in the photo and set them up for the day ahead.”
Klick Photopoint and Max Spielmann offer a great range of frames and albums for your photo requirements. Or you could carry treasured photographs at all times with a personalised canvas bag.
